Bioactive glass coatings obtained by thermal spray: Current status and future challenges

چکیده
Several inorganic materials such as bioactive glasses, glass–ceramics and calcium phosphates have been shown to be resorbable which make them suitable for coating bone implants. This study focuses only on glasses. These biomaterials are highly biocompatible can form a strong chemical bond with the tissues. review comprehensively covers bibliographic reports that investigated glass deposition using different thermal spray techniques. The main drawback is low adherence substrate. Some strategies favour good coats, blends, pre-heating substrate or modifying composition. characteristics of feedstock powders determinant properties coatings obtained. Porosity thickness modulated by techniques varying parameters process. degradation rate some glasses achieve kinetics similar new formation. Taking advantage its dissolution capacity, doped functional elements. While several biological studies performed materials, there has relatively little research response coated Research demonstrated opportunities this promising material enhance bioactivity

Down Syndrome: Current Status, Challenges and Future Perspectives
Down syndrome (DS) is a birth defect with huge medical and social costs, caused by trisomy of whole or part of chromosome 21. It is the most prevalent genetic disease worldwide and the common genetic cause of intellectual disabilities appearing in about 1 in 400-1500 newborns. Although the syndrome had been described thousands of years before, it was named after John Langdon Down who described ...
متن کاملThermal Spray Coatings
THERMAL SPRAY is a generic term for a group of processes in which metallic, ceramic, cermet, and some polymeric materials in the form of powder, wire, or rod are fed to a torch or gun with which they are heated to near or somewhat above their melting point. The resulting molten or nearly molten droplets of material are accelerated in a gas stream and projected against the surface to be coated (...
